About Ales Tomis
I have been working as wedding and portrait photographer in Slovakia since 2010. I specialise in natural and creative wedding photography. I love to work with creative, open-minded couples that have their own unique view of their wedding day, as well as of their life. That is why I moved to London in 2016. Here I want to meet diverse people from all over the world. My style is to be as invisible as possible. Only in special circumstances do I slightly manage the current situation just to make it perfect. I like to shoot the entire wedding day – from the sleepy, hazy preparations up to the late-evening funny dancing.
Even though I have applied only to a single photographic competition (which I won), my wedding pictures have been published on multiple wedding portals and web magazines.
I love artificial hard light in studio and fashion photography. I am inspired by the 1940s and 50s fashion photographers, whose only source of light used to be a tungsten bulb with a metal reflector. I like to mix flash and permanent light with colour filters attached to it. All I want to create are pictures full of contrasts or coexistences of shapes, vectors and colours, aligned with the main idea of each particular photograph.
